FROM BROKENESS TO BOLDNESS

If you had told my twenty-year-old self where I would be today, I probably wouldn’t have believed you. My journey has been anything but linear—full of unexpected turns, heartbreaks, sacrifices, and miracles. But as I look back now, I see how every twist and valley was preparing me for the work I do today: guiding women and families in homeschooling, holistic living, and whole-person wellness.

Early Twenties: Unexpected Beginnings

In my early twenties, I found myself pregnant after dropping out of university with an unfinished degree. My life looked nothing like I had imagined. I wrestled with depression, uncertainty, and fear of what the future would hold. In the middle of it all, my boyfriend (now husband) and

I made the decision to build a life together—marrying just ten months after we started dating, amidst grief from the tragic loss of his sister at just 18 years old.

Starting Again: Zimbabwe to South Africa

We began our married life in Harare, while my family relocated to Johannesburg. We also brought our first child into the world and navigated a new season of life together. I ran my own Montessori preschool and continued my teaching career at a beautiful private school that I loved. Our son came along in 2012, and when our daughter turned 6, we chose to homeschool, and I resigned to be at home full-time. In 2016, we made the move to Johannesburg, South Africa. It meant leaving stability, comfort, and financial security behind—but we believed deeply in building something new, rooted in family, faith, and freedom.

Sacrifices, Community, and New Foundations

Those first years were marked by sacrifice. We stretched finances, learned to live with less, and slowly built a new life in Joburg. We found a church, friendships, and community—even through seasons of change and uncertainty. Along the way, we added a third child to our family, started a business in lithium battery technology, and renovated a home into not just a place of rest, but also a cottage for my grandmother and a workshop for our growing business.

Trials of Health and Caregiving

Taking in my grandmother and my intellectually disabled aunt stretched us in ways I never expected—navigating complex needs, care decisions, and emotional challenges. Then came a storm I never imagined: being diagnosed with Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma. The overwhelming fear, the disruption of treatments, and the uncertainty of what lay ahead shook me deeply.

But God.

Through lifestyle changes, holistic practices, perseverance, and unshakable faith, I found healing and entered remission. This season changed me forever. It ignited my passion for holistic health and showed me firsthand the power of resilience, low-tox living, and nourishing the body, mind, and spirit.

Today: A New Chapter of Service and Growth

Today, I stand in remission, homeschooling two high schoolers and one younger child, mentoring mothers in the Charlotte Mason method, and stepping into my calling as a holistic health coach. I’m updating my qualifications, writing three books, and serving women who want to live with more freedom, wellness, and purpose.

My 86-year-old grandmother is returning to Zimbabwe after three years with us, and my family is preparing for a new transition: moving to Portugal. It’s a dream that feels daunting at times—financially, logistically, and emotionally—but we are stepping forward in courage, trusting God to open the way.

Only God

If my story tells you anything, I hope it is this: life will not always look like you planned. But brokenness can become boldness, trials can forge resilience, and faith can turn fear into fearless living.

Every part of my journey—motherhood, marriage, homeschooling, health battles, caregiving, business-building, and moving countries—has prepared me for this moment. To walk alongside other women. To remind them they are not alone. To help them find wellness, purpose, and joy in the middle of the mess.

Because it’s only by God’s grace that I’m here, and it’s only with Him that we can live fully—body, mind, and spirit.
