It's not perfect but it's progress!

I'm happy to see long-overdue progress in the U.S. food pyramid 🙌

I trained with AFPA as a Nutrition & Wellness Consultant back in 2015, and we were still being taught the old pyramid. Even then, I knew from real-world experience—working with real women in my group sessions—that it simply didn’t work, especially for midlife and older women.

We often separate spiritual fasting from fasting for health — as if God didn’t create our physical bodies too.

But we are spiritual beings living in physical bodies, and they deeply affect one another.

This is my first longer water fast.

Not for weight loss.

Not a January challenge.

Not striving or self-control.

It was thoughtfully planned and entered into with intention.

There are well-documented physical benefits to fasting — giving the gut rest, supporting healing, reducing inflammation, encouraging autophagy.

I'm also using it as a nudge to be more aware.
Awareness of my relationship with food.
Of comfort eating.
Of emotional habits and distractions.

Each time hunger rises, I’m using it as a cue to pause and pray — a reminder of my deeper hunger, and my need for Jesus, the bread of life.

This isn’t something I recommend for everyone.

I’m sharing this as reflection, not prescription.
A reminder that caring for the body God created and tending to our spiritual life are not separate — they are part of the same stewardship. ❤️

Not healthy at all, but we only make Indian sweetmeats at Christmas time. It's been a special family tradition that's part of my Goan heritage. I have fond memories of my childhood - baking with my mum, aunts, and cousins in my grandma's kitchen..

This year I didn't have time to make many of them but this one is one of my favourites and so easy and quick to make. 😋

Sometimes it's good to intentionally allow treats for special occasions like Christmas or Easter. For me, they are a special part of my heritage and things I want my children to have their own memories of. Connection is often an undervalued part of our health but yet it's so vital!

Not every moment needs magic.
Not every invite needs a yes.
Not every room needs to be decluttered and thoroughly cleaned.
Not every post needs to be carefully created.

This December, let something go.

The floors are finally finished, and seeing this space come together feels like a deep exhale. 😌

I’ve been a little quiet on here — the chaos of renovations and life all stacking up at once had me feeling overwhelmed, and I needed to step back. Sometimes the most responsible thing we can do is recognise what our body and mind are asking for… and honour that without guilt.

💙 Rest, reset, breathe.

Even in the mess, God has a way of revealing beauty right in the middle of the chaos. That’s been my anchor through this whole process.

Weight loss is about so much more than just eating less and exercising more.

For me, it’s been about building good, consistent habits one at a time:

✨ Prioritising protein
✨ Drinking more water
✨ Swapping after dinner treats for peppermint + licorice tea
✨ Moving throughout the day, not just once
✨ Focusing on sleep and stress.

It’s slow — 4kg in 2 months — but it’s sustainable. And that’s the point. 🌿

It’s not always easy to share this part of my journey, but I want to be authentic and relatable. Because if I can do it, you can too. 💚

This week has felt like spinning plates with no room for one to fall. Business, homeschooling, family, health… all needing me at the same time. Truth?
I didn’t feel like eating well or exercising (even though I knew it would make me feel worse).

I stepped back from socials because the noise felt too heavy, and even though I felt guilty for not showing up, I also knew I didn’t have the headspace.

Today, I’m slowing down. Taking a breath. Choosing progress over perfection.

I’m not a perfect health coach—I’m a real one. I know overwhelm, frustration, and the weight of trying to be everything to everyone. I still wrestle with food choices and exercise habits. But I also know how much better life feels with awareness, support, and sustainable habits in place.

That’s why I’m working on group programs for 2026, especially for overwhelmed mamas trying to juggle business, homeschooling, health, and caregiving.

You don’t need another impossible plan—you need clarity, focus, and small, steady steps that help you thrive instead of burn out.

For now, I’m resting. And reminding you it’s okay to pause too. 💛
